The course included all phases of team training with the use of simulation, from planning, establishment of educational goals, adaptation of training scenarios to the conduct of the simulation. Special emphasis was given to debriefing and exchange of experiences between participants and instructors.
We made pairs of facilitators for mutual support during the first simulations. All participants practiced several times as both facilitators and team leaders.
Instructors from the BEST foundation were four experienced facilitators: Guttorm Brattebø and Heidi Brevik from Haukeland University Hospital in Bergen, Åse Brinchmann-Hansen from the Norwegian Medical Association and Torben Wisborg from Hammerfest.
